Seafood: A Healthful Natural Food

When it comes to natural foods, I think seafood is one of the most flavorful and healthful choices a person can make. Whether I cook it on the grill, in the steamer, or in the oven or frying pan, fish offers a diversity and versatility that few foods can match. If I choose a fatty cold-water fish such as salmon, I get both amazing taste and a nice hit of Omega-3 fatty acids.

Tilapia is another fish I enjoy.  To me, it’s slightly sweet in taste. It has a fresh and mild flavor that works well as a key feature of many meals. It also seems to be priced lower than much of the other seafood varieties, at least in certain regions. When I can’t find tilapia, I substitute another fish such as haddock or flounder.  People have been using hCG drops in conjunction with a diet high in seafood with great results.

Tuna is another nutritional powerhouse that tastes great. While some folks opt for albacore tuna, I prefer the more common and less costly red tuna. It works great in tuna salad for sandwiches or to top a green salad. There’s something about tuna that makes me feel more energetic and powerful too. Tuna steaks work well on the grill, under the broiler, or in the oven or steamer. Serve them with a green vegetable like broccoli or asparagus and maybe an orange one like squash for a truly memorable meal.

I love to cook, so when I think of seafood and other natural foods like fresh vegetables and fruits, my eyes light up. I immediately start combining ingredients in my head to come up with an interesting meal. Many good cookbooks are available if you’re not an experienced cook. I’ve been cooking so long now that I just sort of wing it. I often think it’s fun to use whatever I have on hand.
